Like the galaxy shown above, nursing may seem overwhelming, broad, and ambiguous. However, despite being afraid of the unknown you cannot help but admire its beauty in its entirety. This has been made known through the multitude of skills, knowledge, and perception, a nurse possesses. Like nursing, the nebula showcases its majestic colors, swirls, and bits of pieces of rocks and stars, that when woven together creates a beautiful masterpiece. The art and science of nursing includes evidence based practices that continuously strengthen the role as a caregiver, and like the galaxy remains ever changing. Nurses encounter several hurdles every day whether that includes health inequities, difficult patients, or ethical concerns and just as gravity impacts the solar system by attracting nearby masses, the nursing realm utilizes skills such as compassion, trust, and communication to hold the unit together. Moreover, the galaxy represents nursing as an art by interconnecting and finding the balance between all aspects of a patient’s well-being, like the gravitational pull between multiple galaxies, a nurse incorporates and prioritizes the dignity of the patient while advocating and addressing their health concerns.

I love the connection that you made between the galaxy and nursing. Nursing is very broad and theres just so much that you can do. It is definitely very overwhelming with all that one has to learn in their nursing studies. The picture, btw, is very gorgeous.
Hey Jazzy! I know, I saw the picture on social media and was mesmerized by it. Yeah, and that is one of the many reasons why I decided to pursue a career in nursing, endless avenues, and forever evolving/learning.
I would never have thought to compare nursing to a galaxy. I agree like the galaxy, nursing is beautiful with its many components. The stars and pieces of rock representing different areas of nursing, and the colors and swirls representing the constant change that nursing goes through. The nursing galaxy is a vast integral part of the, even bigger, healthcare universe. Lovely interpretation!
